Live Music

The Live and Local Strategic Initiative provides funding to local councils for the promotion of more live music at a grassroots level.

The Live Music Office is thrilled to work with councils in Western Sydney and Regional NSW to provide jobs for musicians and opportunities for audiences to create vibrant communities.

Through funding provided by Create NSW on behalf of the NSW State Government, the second round of the Western Sydney and Regional NSW Live and Local Strategic Initiative will offer 6 councils in Western Sydney and 6 councils in Regional NSW the opportunity to develop bespoke local music events in their Local Government Area over the course of 2017/2018.

Working with the Live Music Office, Western Sydney councils can nominate local government staff, or work in partnership with an advisory committee consisting of council members, local industry and community members to facilitate a family friendly, local music event for local musicians using the Live and Local micro-festival event model.

Local Councils are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Live Music Office outlining their proposal for a micro festival featuring local artists and businesses as well as any associated audience engagement and music industry development strategies to support musicians in their region.

The Expression of Interest application process closes at 5pm, Monday 14 August 2017. For more information on the Expression of Interest application process, email Lucy Joseph, Live and Local Program Manager at:
