Welcome to the National Live Music Office website.

We were established in July 2013 following years of policy advocacy by the live music sector.

Many within the live music sector were (and are) deeply concerned that the regulatory environment was negatively impacting upon the capacity of the sector to adapt to a shifting entertainment environment, and that a resourced and coordinated response was required to not only hold the line as live music venues struggled to survive in some areas but to also develop strategic plans to support a better future for Australian musicians.

We’ll be using this site to provide information on policies impacting upon the live music sector nationally, and updates on our work to achieve better regulatory systems for Australian musicians.
