On 1 July 2020, new environment protection laws are intended to come into effect in Victoria. You can access these new laws here.

Under the proposed changes, new approaches are being considered including the expansion of noise sensitive uses definitions, with the addition of child care centres; kindergartens; primary schools and secondary schools, as well as the inclusion of tourist establishments; campgrounds; and caravan parks in the definitions.

Public comment is open until 31 October 2019 on the proposed regulations and environment reference standards homepage. All Victorians are encouraged to review and have their say on the proposed environment protection regulations and environment reference standards.
