Wheatbelt Touring Circuit #1 feat. award winning acts

In partnership with RAC and with support from Hertz, WAM recently announced its 2015 Wheatbelt Touring Circuit, an extension of its successful pilot program. This WAM regional touring initiative takes West Australian acts on a paid journey through the Wheatbelt, with the first tour happening Friday 20 to Sunday 22 February, and then running monthly through til November.
Plus all shows are free entry.

The Regional Tour Circuit combines free performances at multiple community recreation and leisure complexes, clubs and traditional pub venues throughout the region, seeing leading acts from WA’s metro areas combining with a vast array of talented upcoming and established acts from the Wheatbelt. Also upcoming in March and April will be the likes of Boom! Bap! Pow!, Ralway Bell, Pete Byfield and more.

A key driver of this tour is raising awareness of the Wheatbelt region’s road safety issues. WAM is proud to enter into this partnership with RAC as we recognise and support their commitment to increasing road safety awareness and reducing serious crashes in the region. Of this partnership, the RAC’s Carina Lauder said, “RAC is pleased to be partnering with WAM once again to raise awareness of road safety in the Wheatbelt. The Wheatbelt region continues to be overrepresented in WA’s fatality rate, and in 2013 was four times the State average. RAC believes action is needed to stop local deaths on local roads.”

WAM’s CEO Mike Harris added, “It is important for WAM to enter into partnerships with organisations such as the RAC to create opportunities for both the WA music industry and the people of the Wheatbelt to participate in live, original music events. Tours like this provide the perfect platform for raising awareness with those most at risk within Wheatbelt communities.”
