In August 2014 Damian Cunningham joins the National Live Music Office as director of Audience and Sector Development.
With over ten years experience in the Australian live music industry, Damian has worked in booking and logistic roles for festivals including the Big Day Out, Splendour in the Grass, Peats Ridge, Surry Hills Festival and the Newtown Festival. He also runs his own live music services company Elastic Entertainment. Over the years he has handled tour support for Lorde, The Griswolds, Jon Cleary and The Good Lovelies.
Damian started in the local music scene in the north of England after a short period performing in bands, which lead to a shift to the more practical side of the music business in organisation, booking, promotion and venues.
“It’s my aim to bring a broad and practical approach to working in all areas of live music performance with a strong interest in venue, festival and use of alternative space for performance.”
Damian is also an electronic music producer performing under the name iSOMA. Strong interests in indie, roots, world, indigenous and electronic music.
