Your choice = Our experience.
Our choice = Your experience.
Everyone is Responsible – venues, festivals, events, and you.
“Australia’s music industry leaders have made an important choice to speak up about antisocial behaviour, and to come together to strengthen and celebrate our live music culture. Your Choice is about personal responsibility, responsibility to your mates and calling out bad behaviour – something all music lovers should get behind. I commend everyone involved for leading by example and for backing all that is great about live music.”
Victorian Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley, Sept 2017
Your Choice launched in July last year backed by hundreds of artists, events, venues, festival and industry organisations. Over the past eight months, that supporter list has more than doubled and the Your Choice message has been embraced and rolled out at festivals and events such as Splendour In The Grass, Big Sound, Party In The Paddock, New Years on the Hill, Spilt Milk, Yours and Owls Festival, The Falls Festivals and many more. Venues across the country including The Corner Hotel in Melbourne, The Northern in Byron, the Zoo in Brisbane, Arts Center Melbourne just to name a few!
Aside from the awareness campaign rolling out, Your Choice aims to operate as a platform for information sharing, where industry can link in with organisations and professionals who can enhance and educate industry to offer a more rounded, safer patron experience. That resources space is up and running, you can check it out here, it is growing by the day. There are some very knowledgeable folk out there, doing great things, with excellent ideas, jump over and check them out.
At the end of last year Your Choice partnered with The Falls Festival, Flume, Dune Rats, The Smith Street Band, Ecca Vandal and Angus and Julia Stone, to release a limited edition of exclusive one off designed T Shirts to raise money for Green Peace , Support Act , AIME , Asylum Seeker Resource Center , Life Line Australia and Heart Felt Homes.
We caught up with Run The Jewels while they were in Australia this summer, they lay out rules for all RTJ fans during their set… check them out here……
We would love to hear from any organisation or individual working in a relevant space so we can add their information. We would also love to hear from industry regarding ideas or needs that we can include, and venues to hear what strategies you are implementing to prevent and tackle behavioural issues in your space, please send details through to: email@example.com
