ALL AGES ACCESS (AAA) GRANTS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATION!

MusicNSW and the City of Sydney are thrilled to present a new grants program for all ages events in inner Sydney. Designed to encourage venues, booking agents, musicians and artist managers to present more all ages shows, the All Ages Access Grants (AAA Grants) will provide funding to cover artist fees, production and promotion costs for events in inner Sydney from February – June 2017.

MusicNSW is the peak body for contemporary music in NSW and works for the creative and financial sustainability of the NSW music industry. MusicNSW advocates on behalf of the industry, runs professional development programs and provides resources and funding to emerging and established musicians and music industry professionals.

All ages shows are incredibly important to MusicNSW and City of Sydney as they allow young people the chance to explore their passion for live music in safe spaces, as well as being a valuable investment in future live music audiences. The AAA Grants program is an initiative of the City of Sydney’s Live Music and Performance Action Plan, and is delivered as a partnership between the City and MusicNSW.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the City was committed to Sydney’s live music scene and giving young musicians the opportunity to rehearse and play gigs.

Live music and performance enriches our city’s cultural life and contributes to the local creative economy, there’s no question our community supports it,” the Lord Mayor said.

“Reviving Sydney’s live music scene is a challenge that will require long-term investment from all levels of government but we’ve committed to taking immediate action wherever we can.”

Applications are now open and close at 5pm on Monday 16 January, 2017.
