Creative live work

Affordable living and work space

In 2013, the City of Sydney opened its first creative live/work residency program when we offered people working in a creative field an opportunity to take up a 12-month affordable apartment lease on William Street.

In 2014, 6 talented artists were announced as our very first residents at the William Street creative live/work apartments. The second group commenced in mid-2015 on 12-month leases and our third group of artists commenced in June this year.

Waterloo creative live/work space

Following the success of the William Street program, we are now seeking applications for a new creative live/work space in Waterloo.

As part of our Creative Live/Work Spaces Program, we have a self-contained apartment available within the Waterloo Library grounds. Rent is $250 per week on a 12 month tenancy commencing in November 2016. This opportunity is suited to artists or creative workers open to collaborating with the library.

An expert panel will assess applications based on artistic merit and approach to collaboration with the library.

Find out more about the program, application process and information session .

Applications close midnight Thursday 25 August.
